accidents was around 1.5 lakh. The road accidents are on higher side in India. The Reasons are as follows:
  1. Poor Implementation of Traffic rules and laws. Enforcement is also weak.
  2. Over speeding
  3. Mixing of drinking and driving.
  4. Poor quality of road infrastructure with some roads bereft of road lights.
  5. Vehicle overloading.
  6. Natural agents like: hailstorm, floods, fog etc.
