  1. National deworming day was inaugurated at Dungarpur by feeding tablets to children.

 

  • At Dungarpur’s gram panchayat bildi, the national deworming day program was started by feeding albendazole tablets to the children.

 

  • National Deworming Day is a groundbreaking initiative focused on reducing the threat of parasitic worm infections.

 

  • The World Health Organization estimated that the age of 14 in India’s 22 million children are at risk of worm infection of the intestines.

 

  • The nutrients that are important child’s body are eaten by the worm and it causes the problems as loss of blood, malnutrition among children and stop the body’s growth.

 

 

 

  1. The amount rose to 2.5 lakhs from 2 lakhs for the Mukhbir scheme.

 

  • The Mukhbir scheme is lauched by PCPNDT cell of state health department and to stop gender foetus test.

 

  • As per the data of PCPNDT, Gender ratio has been increased to 939 for the year 2016

 

 

  1. India Stone-Mart ‘ 9th Edition will be organized from second to fifth February 2017 at JECC Sitapura located in Jaipur.

  1. IIT Bombay helps Rajasthan tribal communities set up solar manufacturing plant.

 

  • A solar module manufacturing plant fully owned and operated by local tribal communities is being set up in Dungarpur, Rajasthan with the help of IIT Bombay.

 

  • The Institute has helped implement this first-of- its-kind solar photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing plant, which will be completely owned and operated by tribal women in Dungarpur, Rajasthan.

 

 

  1. The central Budget for the Rail development of the state has increased to 3495 crores.

 

  • It is doubled from last budget.

 

  • Most of the budget has been allotted for renovation of the railway lines and passenger facilitation.

  • The amount to motivate Sterilization also increased for Men and women to 2000 and 3000 respectively.

  1. World’s longest flight lands in New Zealand

 

  • The world’s longest commercial flight landed in New Zealand with the arrival of Qatar Airways’ Boeing 777-200LR flight QR920 after completing record journey of 14,535 km between Doha and Auckland.

  • The World Wetland Day (WWD) is observed every year on 2 February to raise awareness about the value of wetlands for humanity and the planet.

  1. Alok Kumar verma is New CBI Chief.

 

  • CBI is the foremost investigative police agency in India. It derives power to investigate from Delhi Special Police Establishment Act, 1946. It was established in 1941 as the Special Police Establishment.

 

  • It was renamed to present nomenclature in 1963.

 

  • Headquarters: New Delhi. Motto: Industry, Impartiality, Integrity.

 

  • It is headed by Director, an IPS officer of DGP rank. He is selected as per the provisions of Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) Act, 2003. The CBI Director is selected by a collegium comprising Prime Minister, Chief Justice of India and Leader of Opposition or leader of the largest party in opposition in Lok Sabha.

 

  1. The 31st edition of Surajkund International Crafts Mela was held in Haryana.

 

  • The 15-day festival will be showcasing the richness and diversity of handicrafts, handlooms and cultural heritage of the country.

 

  • This year Egypt is partner country and Jharkhand is the theme state. This year’s fair is also will be ‘Cashless Mela’ because all stakeholders have been provided option to opt for cashless transactions if they desire so.

  1. Anushka Sharma appointed ambassador of Swachh Bharat campaign.

 

  • The Union Ministry of Urban Development has appointed Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma as the new ambassador of the Swachh Bharat Campaign.

 

  • In her new role as the female ambassador of the campaign, she will highlight the women-centric aspects of open defecation in rural and semi-rural area.

 

  • She will join the campaign with megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who is also the brand ambassador of this campaign.

 

 

 

 

 

  1. IT risk assessment and digital security services provider Lucideus bagged the government’s ‘Best IT Startup of India’ award.

 

  • It won the award in the IT and ITES (IT-Enabled Services) category at the National Entrepreneurship Award 2016 organised by the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

 

  • The index’s objective is to rank Indian states on innovations through the portal that will capture data on innovation from all states on innovation and regularly update it in real time.

 

  • The pillars of index include the capacity of human capital and research, strength of institutions, supporting infrastructure and the level of business sophistication, among others.

 

  • The Global Innovation Index (GII) co-published by WIPO, Cornell University and INSEAD ranks world economies including India since 2007 according to their innovation capabilities and outcomes.
  • India ranks 66th out of 128 countries on the 2016 Global innovation Index (GII).

 

 

  1. Government proposes Payments Regulatory Board in RBI.

 

  • The Union Government in Budget 2017-18 has proposed creation of a six-member Payments Regulatory Board in the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) as part of bringing about structural reforms in the payment eco-system.

 

  • It designates RBI as the nodal authority for the regulation and supervision of payment systems. It will replace the existing Board for Regulation and Supervision of Payment and Settlement Systems. For the purpose, necessary amendments are proposed in the Finance Bill 2017 to amend the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007.

 

 

  1. Akshya Sen becomes World No.1 Junior Badminton player.

 

  • India’s Lakshya Sen (15) has become the World No 1 Junior Badminton player in the latest rankings of the Badminton World Federation (BWF).

  • Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) for the first time has introduced the third gender category in school exams conducted by it.

 

  1. India’s first centre of disabled sportsmen to come up in Gandhinagar.

 

  • India’s first ever Centre of Excellence for differently-abled sportsmen will be established in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The centre will be built on 7.5 acres of land belonging to the Sports Authority of India (SAI).

 

  1. Indian Railways approves first Rail Project in Andaman and Nicobar.

 

  • The Union Railway Ministry has approved 240-KM broad-gauge railway line project in Andaman and Nicobar.

 

  • The first railway line on Andaman and Nicobar Islands will connect Port Blair (capital) in the south with Diglipur, largest town on the north Andaman Island. Currently both destinations are linked by a 350-km bus service and there is no air connectivity.

 

  • The islands host the Andaman and Nicobar Command, the only tri-service geographical command of the Indian Armed Forces.
